OH Bay, located in the Binhai area, is a new-generation cultural, tourism and shopping complex in Bao'an District.
A few years ago, the area was a public green space. Bao'an District implemented a decision made by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and decided to build public cultural and sports facilities on this precious land.
The construction of OH Bay broke through the traditional park building concept, which is building a single public green relaxing space for residents. Instead, it includes 12 unique steel structure art installations, two sea-viewing platforms and many other attractions. There is also the iconic 128-meter-high Bay Glory Ferris wheel in the park.
OH Bay has become one of the most popular recreational destinations in Shenzhen. It is an example of combining urban and commercial operations to integrate benefits for the economy, tourism and culture, providing yet another example of Shenzhen building itself as an international consumption city.
Bao'an District has built a series of landmark buildings including the Bay Glory Ferris wheel, the Shenzhen Binhai Art Center, and a "one-hour cultural and tourism living circle" in the GBA to accelerate the development of the east and west sides of the Pearl River estuary and the integrated development of the GBA.
